Derby Day at Hogg’s Hollow

After weeks of working hard on their derby car entries, it was off to the races Sunday for the students at Hogg’s Hollow Preschool & Kindergarten in La Cañada, where they participated in the school’s annual Derby Race and Pancake Breakfast. Students and their families gathered bright and early to cheer on their cars and check out the competing entries.

Cars raced in five divisions, starting with a division for the youngest entrants, and concluding with the adult division. Races in each division included a trophy round and a medal round, and additional awards were given for workmanship. The event concluded with a pizza lunch and an awards ceremony, conducted by Rose Hogg, the school’s director. Every car came away a winner.
