AREA 1: 2600 block of Prospect Avenue: A man reported that an electric sprayer, drill hammer and Makita saw were stolen from his 2004 Chevy van overnight on Nov. 1. A handle had been broken off a rear door.

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard: A Foster’s Donuts clerk called 911 at around 7 p.m. on Nov. 4 following a confrontation with two young men who walked out of the store without paying for a can of Arizona iced tea and an Aloe Vera drink, though the Aloe Vera drinker changed his mind and returned the stolen beverage. Deputies stopped the suspect’s vehicle and found what are believed to be ecstasy pills. A 17-year-old who appeared to be under the influence and provided false identification was arrested after becoming belligerent during a field sobriety test, and a 21-year-old was also booked on suspicion of drug possession.

Waltonia Drive and Park Place: A deputy on patrol Nov. 4 followed, and then pulled over, a 21-year-old Glendale resident driving a 1997 Mercedes S550 after he made an illegal U-turn on Verdugo Boulevard. The car smelled of marijuana but a search turned up only an illegal spring-loaded switchblade knife, which the man said he had purchased from a liquor store in Azusa. The deputy confiscated the knife but sent the driver on his way.

5100 block of Ramsdell Avenue: After waking up at around 3 a.m. on Nov. 7 to the sound of his car’s theft alarm, a man reported $500 worth of plumbing tools were missing from his 2004 Chevy Silverado. A rear window had been pried open.

2900 block of Mary Street: The rear driver’s-side window of a 2009 Honda Civic parked on the street was smashed in the early-morning hours of Nov. 7.

2800 and 2900 blocks of Adams Street: The rear driver’s-side window of a 2002 Toyota Highlander and rear passenger’s-side window of a 2009 Hyundai Elantra were smashed on the street in the early-morning hours of Nov. 7.

2400 block of Janet Lee Drive: A resident who witnessed a car being broken into just before midnight on Nov. 9 chased the man on foot, but the suspect entered a waiting blue Chevy Avalanche that sped away. A patrol deputy spotted two men in a car matching that description and searched it, finding burglary tools and a AAA membership card that belonged to a Nov. 7 Mary Street apparent car-vandalism victim. Two 18-year-old Pasadena residents were booked for charges that included vandalism, vehicle burglary and receiving stolen property.

AREA 2

Foothill Boulevard and Littleton Place: A 23-year-old San Gabriel man was arrested just after 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 for driving under the influence of alcohol. A patrol deputy stopped the car because it did not have operating license-plate lamps.
