Joyce Merriam

Joyce Merriam, 78, passed away on Dec. 17 after a battle with cancer. She died peacefully at home in Incline Village, Nev., surrounded by her family.

Joyce Wilkerson Merriam was born on Nov. 2, 1932 in Glendale. She was graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1950 and from Immaculate Heart College in 1955. She was a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District for 38 years.

She married Charles Merriam on Nov 25, 1961 and just recently celebrated 49 years of marriage. The Merriams spent 25 years in La Cañada raising their three children, Charyl, Christine and Chad.

Joyce is survived by her husband Chuck, their three children and seven grandchildren.
