The following were taken from reports on file at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station

Area 1

2900 block of Stevens Avenue: A black 2010 Toyota Corolla was stolen from a resident’s driveway between 6 p.m. Jan. 1 and 8:45 a.m. Jan. 2. The victim said the vehicle was unlocked.

2700 block of El Caminito Street: A blue 2004 Honda Accord was stolen from the street between 7 p.m. Jan. 1 and 10:15 a.m. on Jan. 2. The victim said the vehicle, which had a dented rear bumper, was locked and that the trunk contained a framed picture and DVDs.

4100 block of Rincon Avenue: A 2008 Kia Rondo parked on a residential street was vandalized between 8 p.m. Dec. 31 and 3 p.m. Jan. 1. Scratches around the driver’s side door, front and rear panels and the rear passenger door appear to have been caused by a key or other small metal object. The damage was valued at $1,000.

3100 block of Foothill Boulevard: Two power sanding tools valued at $200 were stolen at about 1 p.m. on Dec. 31 from the bed of a pickup truck in the Orchard Supply Hardware parking lot while the owner was making a purchase inside. The victim reported seeing two suspicious-looking men leave the parking lot in a blue Chevrolet Suburban.

3000 block of Prospect Avenue: A TomTom GPS device was stolen overnight on Dec. 27 from a 2008 Phoenix Actyon (a type of electric vehicle) parked on a residential street. The thief broke a window valued at $800 to snatch the $50 device, but left behind its power cord and $3 that was on the dashboard.

Area 3

4300 block of Shepherds Lane: As the Valley Sun reported last week, deputies responding to a residential burglary alarm at 8:40 a.m. on Dec. 29 received a call moments later that three jewelry boxes were thrown from a vehicle as it passed L.A. County Fire Station 82 while entering the 210 Freeway. Deputies discovered costume jewelry strewn around the floor of the home’s master bedroom and a jewelry box on the ground just outside the home. The three boxes thrown from the vehicle contained costume jewelry that belonged to the burglary victim.

4400 block of Cornishon Avenue: A pink leather purse containing $1,000 in currency was stolen from the center console of an unlocked 2010 Mercedes E-350 between 7 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 15 from the front parking lot of La Cañada Preparatory School. The victim did not file a report until Dec. 28 because she assumed she had misplaced the purse.
