Day at the Races a good bet for fun

Santa Anita Park will host the third annual Crescenta Valley Day at the Races on March 20.

The popular event benefits the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Support Group and its efforts to continue the local Explorer scouts, civilian volunteer, Neighborhood Watch and other local law-enforcement programs.

It is co-sponsored by the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce, which also receives a portion of the proceeds.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for those 17 and under.

Attendees are treated to nine thoroughbred races, a racing program, barbecue lunch, soft drinks and handicapping advice. It also coincides with the Cal Rod Car Show, which features classic and custom hotrods on display in the infield.
