Kidnap show bumped to new timeslot

A cable television show about the efforts of a local man to recover child kidnapping victims did not air last Saturday as planned but will premiere at a new date and time to be determined later, a spokesperson for the Discovery Channel said.

As the Valley Sun reported last week, the episode of Discovery’s “Kidnap and Rescue” series was set to feature stuntman and former bodyguard Ty Ritter and his nonprofit Project Child Save. Under the nonprofit’s umbrella, Ritter and members of his board are able to raise funds — often in and around La Cañada Flintridge — to support rescue missions around the globe.

But after press time and before the series aired last weekend, network officials decided to change the series’ broadcast schedule.

“We’re trying to reschedule to reach the right audience,” said Amy Hagovsky, the Discovery Channel’s director of communications.
