$10K in computer equipment stolen from local business

Computer equipment valued at more than $10,000 was stolen this weekend from California Energy Designs, Inc., a La Cañada Flintridge engineering firm located just off Angeles Crest Highway near Foothill Boulevard.

The burglary occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, when a custodian who had arrived to clean the building discovered its front door ajar, said company President Richard Gilbert.

In all, six high-powered computers valued at around $2,000 each and nine large flat-screen monitors were taken, Gilbert said.
