The See’s Candies on 1100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada had a not-so-sweet night Monday when a man faked having a gun and robbed two store employees of an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Sgt. Ray Harley of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.

No one was injured during the robbery, which occurred around 6 p.m. when the man, described as about 25-30 years old, approximately 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, entered the shop with his hand concealed in his shirt sleeve and demanded cash, Harley said. Believing he held a weapon though one was never seen, the employees complied.

The man, who was dressed in a blue long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and a green baseball cap with white lettering, fled on foot westbound on Verdugo Boulevard.

Harley said that it was likely the suspect had a car that he parked out of view of the store, and that sheriff’s detectives were hopeful a resident might have seen the man coming or going from a vehicle. Harley said if residents had any information, they should call the sheriff’s station at (818) 248-3464.

Uriel Solis, See’s Candies district sales manager, declined to comment.
