Crime Blotter: Rock thrown through church window, stolen iPods

Area 1

3800 block of Park Place: A set of headphones, an iPhone car charger, a pair of Chanel sunglasses and a baby scale were stolen from an unlocked Jeep Grand Cherokee between 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. The car had been parked in a carport.

4400 block of La Crescenta Avenue: A rock was thrown through the library window of the First Baptist Church at La Crescenta during church services on Sunday, Oct. 2. The window, valued at $800, was completely shattered.

1900 block of Verdugo Boulevard: Two pairs of sunglasses and various coins, valued at a total of $730, were stolen from a locked Chevy Suburban between 5:55 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30. The vehicle’s passenger-side front door lock had been punched with an unknown object, and there were pry marks on the driver’s-side door.

2300 block of Pickens Canyon Road: A Mongoose bicycle valued at $250 was stolen from a backyard between 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25 and 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30.

2300 block of Mira Vista Avenue: An iPod was stolen from a locked Hyundai Elantra after a rock was used to smash the driver’s-side window.

Area 2

5200 block of Castle Road: A pair of sunglasses and a set of headphones were stolen from an unlocked car while it was parked at its owner’s residence between 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 and 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. Both items were valued at $300. Also, a camera, sunglasses and loose coins were stolen from an unlocked Ford F150 pickup on the same block between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m a day earlier.

300 block of Baptiste Way: A pair of sunglasses valued at $600, as well as various coins and a DMV year sticker, were stolen from an unlocked Mercedes-Benz sometime between 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 and 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct.1.

4800 block of Fairlawn Drive: An iPod in a case was stolen from a Toyota Corolla sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 and 7 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30. The victim told deputies that the car’s driver’s-side window doesn’t roll up, and thus the car cannot be securely locked. The iPod was valued at $252.

4800 block of Fairlawn Drive: A wallet, gift cards and loose coins were stolen from an unlocked Chrysler between 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 and 7:45 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30.

2200 block of San Gorgonio Road: A Garmin GPS device and pair of Dior sunglasses were stolen from an unlocked BMW between 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 and 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30. The GPS device was valued at $300 and the sunglasses at $800. During the same time and on the same block, a pair of sunglasses and change were stolen from an unlocked Ford Edge.

4800 block of Tocaloma Lane: A car stereo was stolen from an unlocked Toyota Rav4 while it was parked in a driveway between 12:10 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29.

Area 3

900 block of Descanso Drive: Two surfboards and a board bag were stolen from off the top of a rental car sometime between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. The boards and bag were valued at $1300.
