Local homeless man, ‘Wild Bill,’ found dead in park

A local transient, nicknamed “Wild Bill,” was found dead in Hahamonga Watershed Park last Wednesday, said Sergeant Debra Herman of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s station.

Herman said that Wild Bill had been a resident of the area for a long time and was well known to deputies. Wild Bill was known to have spent a great deal of his time in the park. His body was found in the bushes at the park, and was reported to Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s deputies who contained the area until the arrival of Pasadena Police.

Hahamonga Watershed Park is just on the Pasadena side of the border with La Cañada Flintridge. Lt. Cheryl Moody of the Pasadena Police Department said that they did not have information to release at this time.

Herman said that the coroner would come back with a cause of death, which had not yet been determined.

“We tried and get him help, and he was somewhat resistant to it,” said Herman. “He’s been around for a while, it’s just been one of those things you knew at some point this one was going to happen.”
