La Cañada students give thanks at feast

Share

Pilgrims and Native Americans came together Friday to celebrate Thanksgiving at La Cañada Elementary School, as the 5th grade class held their annual Thanksgiving Feast.

The 99 kids, in full holiday regalia, sang songs before sitting down for a delicious meal which included such kid-friendly fare as a chocolate fountain with marshmallows for dipping.

For parent and room representative Maiquel Alejo, who was dressed in Native American garb herself, the event was a chance for parents to show some thanks.

“For us parents, it’s all about us thanking our children, for all the hard work they do throughout the year,” said Alejo. “We want to make them feel special, and loved.”
