Students show off jump roping skills

Share

If students jumping rope at Palm Crest Elementary School on Friday appear to have a little extra spring in their feet, it might have been because they were there for a cause. They took to the playground during physical education class, ropes in hand, to participate in Jump Rope for Heart, a national education and fundraising program designed to promote physical activity, heart healthy living and community service.

Launched in the late 1970s, Jump Rope for Heart is a collaboration between the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

Students put their jump roping skills to use, testing their endurance and tricks such as crossovers.
