La Cañada Starbucks robbed of $1,500

An armed robber made off with $1,500 in cash from a La Cañada Flintridge Starbucks Saturday night, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Office.

A gunman entered the coffee shop at 475 Foothill Boulevard just as it was closing at 9 p.m. Saturday, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Gary Gurek at the Crescenta Valley station. The man ordered the two employees and one customer inside to the floor, and told one of the coworkers to open the safe. He grabbed about $1,500 and has not been found. The suspect is described as an African-American man, between 28 and 32 years old and about six feet tall.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this article misstated the day of the robbery.
