Expected storm spurs Angeles Forest road closures

Stretches of Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road and Angeles Forest Highway will close late Thursday night in anticipation of icy and dangerous conditions caused by the storm expected to hit the area.

Upper Big Tujunga will be closed from Angeles Forest to Angeles Crest Highway. Angeles Forest will be closed from Aliso Canyon Road to Upper Big Tujunga, according to the Los Angeles County Public Works Department. The closure goes into effect at 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service predicts heavy rain and snow in elevations above 4,500 to 5,500 feet in the storm to hit the region early Friday.
