St. Francis graduates say farewell

Family and friends of St. Francis High School’s 2012 graduating class turned out Saturday morning to watch 165 young men receive their diplomas.

The ceremony followed a Friday-night baccalaureate Mass at St. Bede the Venerable.

The young men matriculating from the Catholic high school were led by valedictorian Roylance Lee Bird IV, who provided the ceremony’s commencement speech, and Salutatorian Payton Shota Wakimoto. Bird was also honored as a student commended by the National Merit Program, and, along with Wakimoto, was a recipient of the Special St. Francis High School Honors Diploma. Bird also received the Capuchin Award and Medal for Scholarship.

Also receiving the honors diploma were Delfin Andres Acosta, Travis David Anderson, Michael Robert Bacall, Nikolas Alexander Barth, Eric Bocanegra, Jeffrey Thomas Brown, Mason Michael Conte, George Theodore Dupas, Jake Allen Egbert, Dennis Joseph Francis, Jose Alejandro Franco, Austin William Frank, Matthew Joseph Fredette, Christopher Abel Green, Tanner John Haynes, Corey Matthew Jung, Matthew James Kaufman, Jeremy Alexander Koch, James Ross Lamanna, Markus Scott Liepins, Jack Deliberto Maron, Mario Reyes Moreno, Daniel Christopher Paras, Mark Sultan, Jackson Matthew Warner, Matthew Underwood Wellnitz and Joseph Robert Williams.

Acosta was also honored with a California Scholarship Federation Sealbearer Scholarship, and Frank received the National Honor Society Certificate of Merit.
