DAILY ROUNDUP: Sonja Cwik takes 11th at Mt. SAC

GIRLS’ CROSS-COUNTRY

La Cañada at Fastback Shootout Invitational: Spartans senior Sonja Cwik was her squads’ top finisher, taking 11th in the senior race with a mark of 12:37.30 on the 1.9-mile Mt. San Antonio College course, which was good for 30th overall Saturday morning.

Junior Anna Frederich was 12th among juniors and 29th overall with a time of 12:36.60.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Prep 3, Alhambra 0: Offense was divided up evenly when the Rebels swept the Moors on the road Thursday, 25-13, 25-18, 25-19, as Dani Motte, Lauren Stiles and Ella Worley each led Prep with eight kills. Setter Katherine Bogaard kept the Rebels’ offense flowing with a team-high 31 assists, as Prep improved to 2-0 in nonleague action and overall this year.

GIRLS’ GOLF

La Cañada 222, Alemany 234, Saugus 242: The Spartans defeated both the Warriors and the Centurions Thursday at the par-34 La Cañada Flintridge Country Club Thursday to improve to 3-1 this season.

Melissa Leo carded a team-best seven-over 41 for La Cañada, which also received two 44’s from Keilee Bessho and Megan Lee, a 45 from Jennifer Kim and a 48 from May Lo.

The Spartans picked up their first win of the season over Marlborough at the Wilshire Country Club Wednesday, 248-260.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Mayfield 11, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 7: The Tologs dropped a nonleague match to Mayfield Thursday, but Sacred Heart did get a sweep from its freshman doubles team of Nicolette Harutunian and Holly MacVaugh, 6-2, 6-4, 6-3.

The loss dropped Flintridge Sacred Heart to 0-2 this season.

Malibu 17, Flintridge Prep 1: Abby Letts claimed the Rebels’ only victory in singles by a score of 6-0, as they fell to the Sharks in a nonleague match on the road Thursday to bring their record to 1-2.

Letts helped lead Prep to its first win of the season Wednesday — a 14-4 victory over Milken Community — as she won two sets, 6-0, 6-0. Roya Gheissari swept her competition in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1. The No. 3 doubles team of Helen Yun and Kate Abe Ridgeway also swept, 6-1, 7-5, 6-1.
