A bicyclist in La Cañada Flintridge suffered major injuries on Tuesday after being struck by a car on Angeles Crest Highway, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Angela Shepherd said.

The victim, a 30-year-old man visiting from Oregon, was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. His condition was not immediately known.

The bicyclist was struck by a Scion sport utility vehicle at 5:44 p.m. along the 5300 block of the highway, a short distance northeast of Glenola Park.

The driver of the Scion was a 25-year-old man from Lancaster, according to Shepherd.
