Crime blotter, Oct. 13: Gas can taken from Descanso Gardens
Oct. 3
Identity theft: 1200 block of Journey’s End Drive, 1:30 p.m. Citibank alerted a resident that a man requested checks on the resident’s account and had the correct account information, but that the checks were not issued because the caller failed to answer a security question.
Oct. 4
Burglary: 4700 block of La Cañada Boulevard, 9:10 p.m. or earlier. Living room window smashed, laptop computer and gold jewelry taken.
Oct. 5
Burglary: 1418 Descanso Drive, before 6 a.m. A full 5-gallon gas can was taken from a locked storage container belonging to the Descanso Gardens groundskeeper. The can was later recovered.
Oct. 7
Theft: 1200 block of Fernside Drive, before 8:30 a.m. Sunglasses, iPod, digital camera and 500 compact discs stolen from an unlocked Dodge Ram.

Oct. 4
Burglary: 2800 block of Pinelawn Drive, 12:30 p.m. or earlier. Living room window shattered, nothing was taken. Before 6:30 p.m., the neighboring home was broken into and a watch was taken.
Drunk in public: 2759 Montrose Ave., 6:13 p.m. Man arrested for being drunk in public after refusing to leave a 7-Eleven for more than two hours. After arrest, suspect was found to have a stolen iPhone.
Oct. 6
Identity Theft: 4600 block of Dyer Street. Credit cards opened in resident’s name without authorization at Macy’s and Kohl’s.
Oct. 7
Drug possession: 1900 block of Verdugo Boulevard, 6:51 p.m. Man arrested for hashish possession.
Oct. 8
Burglary: 2900 Community Ave., 1:50 p.m. or earlier. Backpack containing a history textbook and school supplies taken from a Crescenta Valley High School gym locker.
