Crime blotter: Man attacks neighbor with wooden two-by-four

Nov. 3

Vandalism: 400 block of Encinas Drive, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. A BMW 740i was egged.

Nov. 14

Vandalism: 800 block of Flintridge Avenue, before 1 p.m. Sparkplug wires to a Nissan SUV were cut.

Vandalism: 840 Foothill Blvd., before 7:30 a.m. The rear glass door of the Pzazz hair salon was cracked, possibly by a thrown baseball.

Nov. 15

Attempted burglary: 2655 Foothill Blvd., 4:02 p.m. A man attempting to take an LG Spectrum cellphone from the Connect Wireless store without paying was stopped by a manager and turned over the phone.

Nov. 16

Attempted burglary: 3700 block of Madison Avenue, 6:40 p.m. A man returning home heard his living room window being pried open, saw people running out the gate to his home.

Nov. 17

Burglary: 4500 block of Castle Lane, between 8:15 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. Three cellphones and a purse taken.

Assault with a deadly weapon: 2300 block of Dorothy Street, 6:20 a.m. A 61-year-old man attacked his neighbor with a two-by-four wooden beam after the neighbor removed the beam from the fence dividing their property. The victim’s wife pepper-sprayed the attacker, and the victim’s son helped stop the initial attack, but the man attempted to attack with the wood beam two more times before the victim could call 911. No serious injuries were reported.
