Crime blotter: Gun and jewelry taken

Dec. 18-Jan. 2
Vandalism: 4130 block of Oakwood Ave., between 11 p.m. on Dec. 18 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 19. A 2001 Honda was smeared with animal feces. A similar incident occurred on Dec. 27, this time involving human feces. Owner washed the waste off vehicle.

On the morning of Jan. 2, the same resident found shattered pumpkins on front yard.

Nov. 27-Jan. 2
Grand Theft: 5200 block of Crown Ave. Between 3 p.m. Nov. 27 and and 8 a.m. on Jan.2. Resident reported a black rifle, sterling silver necklace and a sterling silver ring with zircon stones missing from her home.

The woman last saw her jewelry on Nov. 27. She thought it was misplaced, but on Jan. 2 also noticed her husband’s rifle missing .

Jan. 3
Petty theft: 8500 block of Foothill Blvd., between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Employee of Adobe Boutique noticed $400 missing at the end of the day. Earlier in the day, she said an Armenian man around 5’7” and in his 40s asked her to wrap a serving plate for him. She went to the back of the store to wrap it. He said he would be returning after going outside for a cigarette, but never came back.

Dec. 27
Petty theft: 1000 block of Olive Ln., between 3 and 4 p.m. UPS package stolen from front porch containing 3D white strips and LED string lights. Items were returned to a Pasadena Target store and the suspect received store credit.

Jan. 4
Burglary: 1919 Verdugo Blvd. , between 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. After returning from a movie, victim saw that both side view mirrors on their car were stolen. Interior side doors panels were also damaged.

Jan. 4
Burglary: 1900 block of Verdugo Blvd. 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. In a related incident, both side view mirrors were stolen from resident’s vehicle. Car also sustained interior side door panel damage.

La Crescenta

Dec. 14
Vandalism: 4600 block of La Crescenta Ave., between 7 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 10 a.m. on Dec. 15. Resident went on a bike ride on the morning of Dec. 15 and noticed a large scratch on the driver’s side door and trunk lid on their 2006 black Audi when they returned.

Dec. 24
Burglary: 2800 block of Mary St., between Dec. 24 at 9 a.m. and Jan. 1 at 4 p.m. Resident saw door to basement kicked in upon returning home. Reported that a toolbox full of tools, an empty silver metal gun safe and a “shure” 5-piece microphone set with a case were stolen.

Dec. 28
Burglary: 3030 Foothill Blvd. 8:17 p.m. A white man in a baseball cap, dark jacket and dark shoes entered the Office Depot store and asked the manager to see a Samsung PC tablet on display. The manager took it out to show to the man, then showed him other products in the store. The man took the tablet, which was left on the front counter, and exited the store.

Jan. 4
Grand theft: 3000 block of Evelyn St., between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. An aluminum vehicle ramp was stolen from a backyard with an unlocked side gate.

Dec. 31
Petty theft: 2900 block of Franklin St., between 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 12 p.m. on Jan. 1. Bloomingdale’s blue dress, Coach perfume, blue hooded sweater and white iPhone FM transmitter stolen from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in front of the victim’s residence.
