Arts contest scholarships awarded

Scholarships were presented to the top winners of this year’s La Cañada High School 9-12 PTA Reflections Fine Arts Contest during a meeting Jan 17. The theme of this year’s competition was “The Magic of a Moment.”

First-place awards went to Amelia Iannaccone, dance choreography; Melody Wang, music composition; Connor Bradley, film production; Sonia Del Rivo, literature; John Clinton Cooper, photography (he also won first place at the district level and will move on to state competition) and Amelia Goddard, visual arts. Each of these students won $150 scholarships.

Winning $100 scholarships for their second-place wins were Eliza Bentz, film production; Suh Minkyu, literature; Amber Graves, photography; and Danielle Bowman, visual arts.

Third-place scholarships in the amount of $50 went to Danielle Bowman, film production; Lauren Fierro, literature; Vanessa Kim, photography; and Lynn Gilmour, visual arts.

Also recognized for their efforts in the competition were Brenna Gay, Ashley Morrison and Selena Zhang.

Co-chairing the program for the PTA were Lynn Graves and Jim Robertson.
