Crime Blotter: String of residential burglaries in La Cañada

January 21

Grand theft: 1900 Hilldale Dr., before 12 p.m. Diamond necklace, diamond earrings and other items were stolen when resident was moving.

January 25

Residential burglary: 600 Starlight Crest Dr., between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Resident came home to find side door damaged and bedroom ransacked. It’s unknown if any objects were stolen.

January 30

Residential burglary: 200 Starlane Dr., between 6 p.m and 8 p.m. Pistol and Rolex watch stolen. Window in the house was unlocked.

February 1

Residential burglaries: 5400 Burning Tree Dr., between 6:45 a.m. and 8:45 p.m.Two passports stolen from home. Side door was pried open.

5500 Stardust Dr., between 12 and 3 p.m. Front door damaged. Diamond ring, iMac computer and $500 in cash stolen.

Two other attempted residential burglaries occurred in the area between Feb. 1-2, but it is unknown if items were stolen as the residents are still taking inventory of their possessions.

Attempted auto burglary: 1100 Foothill Blvd., between 2:15 and 4 p.m. Resident parked car outside Chico’s, came back to find a damaged window. No items missing.

Petty theft: 1100 Lavender Ln., before 12:45 p.m. Purse stolen from shelf in office. Wallet contained $500 in cash, identification cards and bank cards.

January 25

Auto burglary: 2700 Mayfield Ave., between 10 a.m. on January 25 and 9:10 a.m. on January 26. Rear door damaged on locked vehicle, tools stolen.

Auto burglary: 2500 Community Ave., between 11 p.m. on January 25 and 7 a.m. on January 26. Drill, saw and tools stolen from vehicle. Keyhole on vehicle was punched in.

February 2

Vandalism: 2900 Foothill Blvd., before 9:30 a.m. Substance sprayed on vehicle that was parked behind La Crescenta Florist.
