Local seniors are Presidential Scholars semi-finalists

Daniel del Valle and Joseph Song, La Cañada High School seniors, are semi-finalists in a Presidential Scholars Program.

Applicants for the program are invited through the Department of Education. About 3,900 students qualified and 550 are semi-finalists.

The White House Commission of Presidential Scholars will invite scholars to a ceremony in Washington, D.C. in June.
