Four La Cañada Flintridge high school students were named National Merit Scholarship winners on Wednesday.

Brian Khin and Jeffrey Wang, seniors at Flintridge Preparatory School, both plan to study medicine this fall at USC. Tiffany Chen and Kelvin Zheng, seniors at La Cañada High School, plan to study medicine at USC and Occidental College, respectively.

A senior at Crescenta Valley High School, Lauren Lee, was also named a National Merit Scholar. She plans to study mathematics at USC.

The students are part of a group of 8,000 seniors who will receive scholarships for their undergraduate studies. The awards, which offer students between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of study, are sponsored by national colleges and universities.
