Two residents needed to fill seats on city’s financial advisory committee

If managing money is your forte, La Cañada Flintridge has two openings on an financial advisory committee.

Interested candidates who are residents of La Cañada can apply to the city’s Investment and Financing Advisory Committee by Aug. 30 at 5 p.m. The City Council will then conduct interviews in September and select the new members in October.

The appointments will fill positions vacated by Keith Ban, who resigned in July, and James Poindexter, who is stepping down from the committee due to health issues. Ban’s term expires next May, while Poindexter’s term expires in May of 2016.

The appointees will serve the remainder of those two terms.

The committee advises the city on debt issuance, investments and other financial issues. The members meet on the third Friday of January, April, July and October at 7:30 a.m. in City Hall.
