City will maintain community center restrooms

The city has agreed to maintain the restrooms at the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, which are used frequently by athletic groups who play on the adjacent fields.

The City Council on Monday night approved adding the center’s restrooms to the list of facilities maintained by the city.

The decision will cost the city nearly $2,500 over the next fiscal year. Various groups that use the facilities have agreed to provide $4,900, which will cover additional costs for restroom supplies and unanticipated maintenance.

Deb Jordan, the center’s executive director, told the council in June that 75% of the people who use the restrooms are from outside groups.

The City Council previously approved spending $5,350 on modifying an entry door to the center, allowing sports teams to access the facilities after the center closed.
