Foothill Municipal Water District offers student tours

The Foothill Municipal Water District, which provides water to the agencies that serve the area, is offering tours of the facility to schools, scouting troops and other interested student groups.

Last month, the FMWD hosted fifth-grade students from St. Bede School. In October, members of Brownie Troop 4751 from La Cañada Elementary School took the tour.

“With the implementation of the new Common Core standards in local area schools, we see an opportunity in extending traditional classroom learning to real-world applications. Having students take tours of the Foothill facilities and engage in on-site activities promotes this integrated approach,” stated FMWD General Manager Nina Jazmadarian.

Youth groups or classes interested in scheduling a tour are asked to call (818) 790-4036.
