LCHS Chamber Singers win radio sing-off

The La Cañada High School Chamber Singers received the most online votes in the inaugural Local Vocals High School Choir Sing-off sponsored by classical public radio station KUSC, it was announced Tuesday.

Runners-up in the contest were the Mira Costa High School Vocal Ensemble and the Tesoro High School Madrigals Choir. Video performances by all three finalist groups were posted on the radio station’s website, kusc.org, for voters’ consideration in recent weeks. More than 4,000 votes were cast in the final leg of the competition, which closed Dec. 2.

As winners of the sing-off, the LCHS Chamber Singers will perform live at the Jan. 18 From the Top concert presented by the Pacific Symphony at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.
