Caltech preschool expands enrollment

The cooperative preschool at Caltech operated by the Child Educational Center, which was previously open only to families with Caltech or JPL affiliations, announced this week it is opening its enrollment to all families.

The preschool is located at 250 and 256 S. Michigan Ave., Pasadena. It offers a morning program beginning Sept. 8 and running through next May. Five-day, three-day or two-day schedules are offered for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 5.

The Child Educational Center, headquartered in La Cañada Flintridge, operates programs at seven sites. The nonprofit organization, established in 1979, allows parents to take turns participating as assistant teachers under the guidance of professional staff. Enrollment is open throughout the year on a space-available basis. Full-time programs are available at the La Cañada campus, at 140 Foothill Blvd.
