The La Cañada Educational Foundation’s annual Spring Gala held last weekend raised more than $500,000 for the city’s public schools.

More than 700 people came out to the 24th annual event, held Saturday at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, with some dressed to fit the James Bond-style “For Your Eyes Only” theme.

The gala featured dinner, a live auction, music and dancing, as well as a raffle for a 2015 Mini Cooper.

“We were so pleased with how everything turned out,” said Deborah Weirick, executive director of the Educational Foundation. “We’re so happy so many people in the community turned out in support of our schools, and we’re so thankful for our sponsors, underwriters and our honorees.”
