Haulers to offer free bulk pickup

La Cañada residents cleaning out their properties this month can leave bulky items at the curb during the week of May 18 through 22 for pick up. Items must be set out by 6 a.m. on regular pickup day, according to a City Hall notice.
During the weeklong event, waste haulers will, at no cost, remove an unlimited quantity of household furniture and appliances, as well as electronic equipment and pieces of trimmed garden materials that have been tied up in bundles no longer than 4 feet in length. They will also accept up to two automobile tires. The city suggests considering donating usable items to a local thrift store or charity in lieu of setting them at the curb for pick up.
