The Lanterman Historical Museum Foundation board has announced it will hold a yearlong exhibit, “Lanterman House: 100 Years,” to mark the Craftsman home’s centennial.

The exhibition, which opens Dec. 7, will trace the journey of the historic, innovative building from construction as the home of the Roy Lanterman family, through years of neglect, to exterior and interior restoration, and finally to life as the museum and local history center it is today. The exhibition will be on view throughout Lanterman House and its Visitor Center. Admission to the museum, 4420 Encinas Drive, will be free on Dec. 7 and light refreshments will be available. Hours for the event are 1 to 4 p.m.

The display will continue through December of next year. The museum is open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on the first and third Sunday each month.
