Ten local students are among the 34 finalists for the 2017 Rose Court

The 34 finalists for the 2017 Tournament of Roses Royal Court were presented Wednesday, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Assn. announced.

Nearly 1,000 people took part in the interview process, according to the association. The final seven court members will be announced Oct. 4.

Among the finalists are four students from La Cañada High School: Caitlin Ann Mispagel, Anisa Keyur Patel, Natalie Rose Petrosian and Elyse Juliann Reed.

Five students from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy also made the cut: Natalie Marye Buntich, Dominique Noelle Pittman, Kamela Elyse Stewart, Alexandra Ann Tighe and Grace Osher Van de Voorde.

Flintridge Preparatory School student Mishtii Rajmohan Murari is also a finalist.

Last year, Flintridge Prep student Erika Winter was named the 2016 Rose queen.
