Water utility offers cistern rebates

Foothill Municipal Water District is now offering rebates for customers who purchase cisterns to harvest rainwater for landscape irrigation. The retail water agency collaborated with Hey!Tanks LA and TreePeople to develop the new rebate program, which starts at $0.15 per gallon for cisterns 300 gallons or larger up to $2,000.

Residents interested in the rebate can access an application online at www.fmwd.com/conservation.aspx. Completed applications may be sent to 4536 Hampton Road, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011 or emailed to ddrugan@fmwd.com. Rebates will be on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted.
