The perspective of a seasoned leader

Share

When I first met Ellen Multari four years ago, it was immediately apparent to me and to others who got to know her that her intellectual curiosity about our schools and the investment of her time and energy went beyond that of the typically highly engaged LCUSD parent. Within her first few months in La Cañada, she had joined the Bond Oversight Committee, served on the Palm Crest PTA Executive Board and managed publicity for the 7/8 PTA Spring Home Tour. Each year she took on new leadership roles in our schools, developing excellent working relationships with our district and site personnel as well as with the many other parent volunteers with whom she was working. In combination with her experience as a parent in other public and private schools, she presents the ideal set of skills as a candidate for the LCUSD Governing Board.

I am supporting Ellen for school board because she is uniquely qualified to step into this position and immediately add value. She is a fierce advocate of our schools and our students, recognizing that La Canada offers and exceptional educational opportunity to our families. Ellen recognizes the shortcomings of our district that many of us have grappled with for years: lack of response to teacher ineffectiveness and poor student achievement; financial instability and misunderstandings; and communication breakdowns between the Board and the community. She has well-articulated ideas and the perspective of a seasoned community leader to address the many challenges that face our community. I encourage you to learn more about her campaign at her website, www.ellenmultari.com.

Please join me (a member of her campaign advisory committee) and her growing list of supporters and vote for Ellen on Nov. 8.
