Experience, values and time

I know everyone has varying perspectives and opinions about LCUSD leadership and decision-making. Like other parents in the district, we have spent a lot of time speaking with past and present leaders and teachers, looking through financial statements and projections, and thinking about what is most important for our own children. While the current state of financial affairs in California is unprecedented, school budget squeezes and creative solutions aren’t. When we consider who will be participating in difficult conversations at school board meetings going forward, we want someone who has seen various cycles of administrators and financial conditions; has a vested interest in the long-term success of our schools (e.g., has kids or grandkids in the schools); is realistic in expectations from the state and from our school families; has the experience and personality to stand up for what is right.

Jeanne Broberg fits the bill. She has been involved in La Cañada schools for decades and has made contributions that have led to the greatness of our schools. She is tough and she is determined. She raised her children in the LCUSD and is now working on behalf of her grandchildren (at PCR and LCHS). Jeanne has the experience, the values, and the time. As PCY, LCE and LCHS alumni, my wife and I want for our children what we had — world-class education with engaged and interested teachers. More than any other candidate, Jeanne knows what makes LCUSD great. Let’s keep some experience and institutional knowledge on the school board. Vote Jeanne Broberg.
