Kudos to her triplet sister

Congratulations to Denise Hovland, who grew up in La Cañada and today lives in Montrose, for her recent nomination as Volunteer of the Year at the Pasadena Court Self-Help center.

Denise gave up a career to stay at home to raise her son and assist her husband with his own business. While raising her son she went back to school and obtained a degree in psychology and then obtained a certification as a paralegal. I know it is hard to reenter the workforce after so many years. I am proud of her.

Her extra little effort to help someone out has made a world of difference to them. I want to thank her for the time and dedication she has devoted to helping others in need of assistance at the courthouse.
