She’s got your number, pumpkin thieves

Does your teenager or teenager’s friend drive a yellow Volkswagen bug? My little girl wants to know why the mean girls in that car came on Friday, Oct. 28, to take away her pumpkins. We hadn’t even had a chance to carve them yet.

To those girls: You might like to reconsider your life of petty crime — trying to escape down a dead-end street isn’t the brightest idea. I got a nice picture of your plates on your way back out. Just one question: Did you come back on Halloween to steal the pumpkin we bought and carved to replace the ones you took? Or are there just a lot of really bored kids running around the city at night?
