Around Town: Resolutions she hasn’t kept yet.

Share

It’s a new year, 2012; a year full of possibility, a year full of hope.

Last week, columnists everywhere were recounting their resolutions. This week, they are strangely silent.

“Strange,” I said to no one in particular.

Actually, I was talking to Miss Audrey Hepburn, our black Lab.

Which brings me to the first of the top-five New Year’s resolutions of 2012 that I haven’t kept yet.

Resolution number one: Walk Miss Hepburn more frequently.

I must admit that I am guilty. Guilty of watching Person of Interest instead of — you get the picture.

Resolution number two: Stop hassling Joe Puglia about Brother Cyprian.

This was a worthwhile resolution and a clear sequel of the Leko debacle, which makes Joe and the dear brother fair game; but at this point, it’s like shooting fish in a barrel.

Resolution number three: Eat more protein. You think all the holiday candy was gone, but then you need a gin and tonic. Maybe the perfect workout meal is egg whites and scotch. This is still a work in progress.

Resolution number four: Run two laps around the Rose Bowl twice a week. With or without the dog. Yeah, but there was a football game and stuff.

Resolution number five: Resolution five? I’ve forgotten what it was.

Happy New Year!
