Trust them to make the best decision

Share

Eighteen years ago, the three local hospitals (Glendale Adventist, Glendale Memorial and Verdugo Hills) came together to create a safety net program known now as Glendale Healthy Kids, a private nonprofit whose mission is to ensure that all children have access to health care in our area. Without the support of each, we would have to limit our services to kids.

All of us, Glendale Healthy Kids included, have been feeling the strains of the economy on healthcare services. And all of our boards are making decisions that will be economically viable, yet will provide the best care for our populations. While at times those decisions may not seem popular, they are made with the best interests of our community as the No. 1 priority.

Currently, there are many rumors flying about what may, or may not, happen to Verdugo Hills Hospital (Re: “Hospital in merger talks,” March 22). The Board of Directors of Verdugo Hills Hospital is in a process to ensure the future of healthcare in the North Glendale and Crescenta Valley. We at Glendale Healthy Kids trust the board of directors of Verdugo Hills Hospital to make the best decisions on behalf of all of our community.
