Thanks to those who came for breakfast

The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada-AM would like to thank the nearly 600 people of the Foothills who came out to our annual community breakfast over the Fiesta Days Memorial holiday and made it such a success.

The eager eaters' message was that this was the best French toast breakfast ever. One big reason that makes it such a great meal was due to local businesses who donated food and gift cards. A big thanks to Ralphs (West), Ralphs (East), Vons, Trader Joe's, McDonalds, Greenberg Cheese Co., and Simply Perfect Catering for their support.

The weather cooperated and our sponsoring Key Club members from Franklin High School got up early to volunteer to help, along with many of our own club members. Kudos also to our local Misplaced Priorities band, which provided music for dining — even at 8:30 a.m.

When our Kiwanis truck with the current and past club presidents rode in the parade on Memorial Day, many bystanders yelled out to us, “thanks for a great breakfast.” All the monies raised from ticket sales are used to support youth groups in the La Cañada area. See you next year for another terrific French toast breakfast with Kiwanis-AM's secret recipe.
