Register with reverse-911 system

Share

Having lived through the Station fire of 2009 and the ensuing debris flows the following winter, I know firsthand the importance of the city’s reverse-911 phone alerts.

In the event of an emergency or disaster affecting the city of La Cañada Flintridge, having the ability to receive timely public safety information is critical. For this reason, residents are urged to register any phone number with the city’s reverse-911 system, known as Alert LCF.

Alert LCF is an invaluable tool for providing residents with information and notifications during emergency situations. Using Alert LCF, the city can notify residents of evacuation orders, shelter locations, road closures, etc. Alert LCF has proven its worth in previous emergencies and can be helpful when every minute counts.

To register phone numbers with Alert LCF, and for more information on disaster planning, go to the city’s website at www.lacanadaflintridge.com or contact the city’s public safety coordinator, Peter Castro, at (818) 790-8880.
