La Cañada United Methodist Church opens a drive-through cafe to raise money

Locals in search of a caffeine fix Friday morning can find it at La Cañada United Methodist Church, as it continues its weeklong “Drive-Thru Cafe,” open from 7 to 9 a.m. The church is located at 104 Berkshire Place, convenient to commuters headed toward La Cañada High School or JPL.

The drive-through features coffee with syrups, tea and “Delores’ Special Spiced Tea,” concocted by church member Delores Dowdy.

Saturday is the final day for the fundraiser, which will also feature a sale of gently used books, a cafe and a boutique featuring one-of-a-kind jewelry, cards and homemade sweets. Saturday’s hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Sunday, Pastor Elaine Cho continues her series on “Fruits of the Spirit” at the 10:30 a.m. worship service.
