Simple wisdom on underage drinking

Re: “Of parents, children and alcohol,” Thoughts from Dr. Joe, May 2.

Wow, we have never heard it put so clearly, eloquently and without judgment. Our children are grown and underage drinking didn’t surface as a big problem with them.

Nonetheless, we remember counseling them about the risks, but we can’t say that we ever offered them words as beautiful and true as your mother’s. Thanks for taking on this difficult issue and for sharing the simple wisdom she gave to you.
