Parcel tax helps prepare La Cañada students

Share

Every year, most La Cañada residents within LCUSD boundaries pay a $150 parcel tax to benefit our public schools, raising approximately $892,000.

A significant portion of our parcel tax dollars (2 ¼ “Full Time Equivalent Teachers”, equating to about $145,000) is used to educate our grammar school children with computer instruction.

Elementary school computer instruction specialists provide weekly curriculum-based classes. Teachings include keyboard techniques, digital citizenship, cyber safety, burning CDs and research.

The parcel tax is greatly helping our children prepare for the future. These extra funds allow our young students to have the opportunity to learn computer basics in our schools.
