Letter: Community came to the Rose float’s rescue

We members of the La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Assn. Board of Directors owe a big thank you to the foothill community for their outpouring of support to the association.

The recent theft at our construction site was a big loss of important cables and welding equipment. However, the concern among community members has resulted in a large number of donations, from $20 all the way to the significant checks we received from Wells Fargo Bank and NASA Services.

The construction and site crews have ordered and replaced nearly all of the stolen items. We could not have continued with the building of the 2014 Rose float, “Dog Gone!”, without the caring support of float enthusiasts.

Thank you all.
