Letter: PTAs funded the LCHS iMac lab

Share

Your story about the new school computer labs (April 10, “Schools tap into tech with iPads”) incorrectly reported that funding from the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation opened and furnished the high school’s iMac lab. The lab was paid for with $75,000 from the LCHS 7/8 PTA and 9-12 PTSA. This money was raised over several years through the hard work of PTA volunteers and the generous support of parents and local businesses.

A major PTA fundraiser is the 7/8 Home Tour, this year on May 2 featuring four beautiful La Cañada homes, a catered lunch, a marketplace and music. Tickets can be purchased at www.lchs78.org.

Another major PTA fundraiser involves Ralphs and Vons shoppers who register their club cards to benefit a local school. When your card is registered, these stores pay the PTAs a percentage of what you spend, at no cost to you. Ask a store clerk how to register your card or visit Ralphs.com or eScrip.com (Vons).

Thank you to all who support the PTAs.
