Despite four consecutive Rio Hondo League championships and summer amateur victories, La Cañada High golfer Collin Morikawa had come close in his quest to advance to state, but had ultimately fallen short.
That was until Thursday afternoon, when the senior extended his season and exorcised some demons in the process, in shooting a one-under 71 at Brookside Golf Course and finished tied for fifth at the CIF/SCGA Southern California High School Championships.
