Sports Roundup: Flintridge Prep volleyball downs La Cañada

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Prep 3, La Cañada 0: AJ Nicassio collected 13 kills and Tim Treinen added 27 assists Tuesday to power visiting Flintridge Prep (4-0) to a 25-16, 25-14, 25-22 nonleague win.

Host Flintridge Prep posted a 25-14, 25-13, 19-25, 25-21 nonleague win against Glendale on Monday. The Rebels received 42 assists from Treinen, 17 kills from Nicassio and 10 kills from Majeed Ismail.

Harvard-Westlake 3, St. Francis 1: The visiting Golden Knights saw the Wolverines register a 25-11, 25-22, 27-29, 25-14 Mission League win Tuesday.

Joey Thompson had 25 assists and Brian Castro added 12 kills for St. Francis (6-6, 1-2 in league).

BOYS’ TENNIS

La Cañada 13, St. Francis 5: Host La Cañada (2-1) recorded a nonleague win Tuesday.

St. Francis (0-3) received three wins from Ian Freer (6-0, 6-2, 6-0).

Flintridge Prep 11. La Salle 7: The Rebels (1-3) recorded a victory Tuesday in a nonleague road match at Orange Grove Park in Arcadia.

BASEBALL

Ventura 3, St. Francis 2: Down by a pair of runs in the seventh, the Golden Knights tied it when Aaron Treloar doubled in a run and later came around to score. But the Knights lost it on a walk-off hit batsman.

Will Schmidt had two hits for St. Francis (1-2).

SOFTBALL

La Salle 9, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 4: The Tologs (3-1) fell in a nonleague game Tuesday.

BOYS’ GOLF

Flintridge Prep 236, Temple City 244: Ben Sacks carded an even-par 36 on Monday for the Rebels (4-0) in a nonleague match at Altadena Golf Course.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

St. John Bosco 12, St. Francis 9: The Golden Knights dropped to 2-2 with their loss on Saturday on the road.
