Tologs survive scare
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 3, Louisville 2: The Tologs survived a Mission League scare on the road Wednesday evening, rallying from a 2-1 deficit thanks to the clutch play of Katelyn Almeida and Hanna Armendariz.
Almeida had a goal and two assists and Armendariz had two scores, including the game-winner.
Armendariz scored in the first half off an Almeida assist, but Louisville rallied for a 2-1 lead with 20 minutes left.
Almeida scored the equalizer off a Breeana Koemans assist before she assisted Armendariz’ game-winner. The Tologs, who allowed just two shots on Wednesday, are now 13-4-2 and 6-2-1 in league.
Sacred Heart ends the regular season Friday at St. Francis High with a 5 p.m. match against league champion Harvard-Westlake, which clinched the league title with a win over Alemany on Wednesday.
GIRLS’ WATER POLO
Pasadena Poly 21, Flintridge Prep 3: Arin Phillips scored two goals for the Rebels in a Prep League match on Wednesday. Sara Yoho had eight saves for Prep.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Loyola 71, St. Francis 59: Zack Gardea scored 23 points for the Golden Knights in a Mission League road loss to conclude the regular season on Wednesday.
Emerson Castaneda added 21 points for St. Francis (10-15, 3-9), which got 10 points from Tei Vanderford.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Harvard-Westlake 58, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 50: Dana Budzyn led the Tologs (8-17, 1-8) with 16 points in a Mission League home contest on Tuesday.
